Este es el evangelio

Hello! This has been a pretty good week, and we were able to accomplish much. Elder E is a great companion, and his ánimo has been great to help out the missionary work here. Although he does like to ride his bike alongside me, which has caused a few traffic problems here haha.

On Wednesday, all of our appointments were falling through, so we started looking for some families, and nothing, then we contacted, and nothing! We were doing everything possible to look for the spirit´s guidance, but everything was falling through. But then, when we got home at 9:20 that night, I realized that we had 5 lessons in the day! Normally, we get about 3, and we were able to find some new people too. I know that when we really lose ourselves in the work, giving all of our heart, might, mind and strength, God gives us the spirit, and gives us results.

On Friday, we had a great district meeting. We practiced how to talk to people briefly about the principles of the gospel, and then we started to talk about what the gospel really is. We talked about how we can receive it, and how we can help others as well. We talked about the importance of being like Jesus Christ in everything that we do, especially in this time as missionaries. I am so grateful for my brother, Jesus Christ, and for everything that He has done for me. It is a privilege to wear His name over my heart as I preach His gospel. Later, we had an appointment with J; as he spoke to us, I felt the spirit, and I felt him confirm that J really is a convert to the gospel. We also had an appointment with the A family, but when we were about 5 minutes from their house, it started raining like crazy! We got there completely soaked! But as Elder E says, "Por sacrificios se dan bendiciones!"

Sunday, we had 16 investigators at church! Well more than half of them are children, but there were two small families that we don't teach that had never gone before, so we will be meeting them better today! Half of the A family was able to go to church too, it was fantastic. At night, when we were getting the indicators, I called Elder R again after giving the indicators to the zone leaders, and we just talked a while. I asked him a little about how he is feeling, and he really opened up to me. We were able to talk and really bond more than ever before. I am grateful for the position that I have been given to help the other missionaries here in Leticia.

This week I was reminded of the importance of diligence. I have really seen the blessings, especially as the mission is nearing its end. I will continue to give everything I have, until they finally tell me to stop.

Lots of love,

Elder Toombs
