All Goes Well In Soachington
Hello everyone!
This week was pretty tough with the number of lessons, but
we still had several of our investigators going to church. The problem is that
the ones that have a baptism date had to leave just before the 3rd hour
started... We were pretty sad haha. But everything is going well, and we are
enjoying the opportunity to serve the Lord here in Las Villas.
The highlight of this week was that Elder Waddell, an area
seventy, came to give us a capacitaciónon Thursday. The Elders from la Mesa
came over the night before to stay the night with us, then in the morning we
all took off early to go to Bogotá. It was fantastic; I could just feel his
power from the moment that he started to talk. We learned a lot about our
purpose as missionaries, and how we need to fulfill it. It was great, and it
was like a recharge to keep working strong and faithful personally in my
mission.
On Friday we did interchanges with La Mesa; I stayed over
there with Elder M, and Elder M came to stay here with my
companion. It was a good day, even though it started to rain quite hard for a
little bit. But we ate lunch with Presidente R, then happened to find
Henry, a member that accompanied us a lot, J, who now has to work on Sundays
to sustain her baby, and the D family. It was a good interchange, and we
were able to see what changes they need to make in the Mesa to work even
better.
I know that God really has a plan for each and every one of
us, that we were aware of this plan before we were born, and that we agreed to
abide by it as well. I can't imagine what those of other churches believe what
happens after this life; nothing but what we know as members of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints makes any sense to me. I hope that everyone
can have a great week, and that we can remember always what our purpose here
really is!
Love,
Elder Toombs
